Parking in large cities is unnecessarily stressful and expensive. In San Francisco alone, over 1.5 million parking tickets are issued annually across roughly 500,000 registered cars—averaging 3 tickets per car per year. Drivers spend up to 4 days per year searching for parking. Confusing signage, time limits and street cleaning rules lead to costly mistakes.

ParkSavvy acts as a personal parking assistant that follows the driver instead of forcing the driver to interpret complex signs. Once parked, the app explains whether parking is allowed and for how long, tracks the vehicle location automatically, sends a reminder 15 minutes before time limits expire and suggests nearby legal parking alternatives when needed. The user can walk away without worrying about tickets or constantly checking the time.

The app combines smart parking rule interpretation based on location with time-limit reminders to prevent tickets. AI-powered parking availability predictions help users find spots faster. Integration with PayByPhone handles parking payments seamlessly.

Future iterations explore vision-based parking detection using existing car cameras, parking spot size verification and autonomous vehicle repositioning for compatible cars. CarPlay compatibility enables navigation and hands-free use for a seamless in-car experience.

For drivers: save up to $300 per year in parking tickets, reduce stress and time spent searching, make city driving more predictable and accessible. For cities: encourage walkability and smoother traffic flow, reduce congestion caused by parking searches. For partners like Tesla: enhanced in-car experience, differentiation through intelligent urban mobility features and scalable data-driven expansion to other major U.S. cities.
I've been using the app for over two months and it saved me about five tickets. I park daily in high-risk areas like Chestnut Street, and without this I'd get ticketed constantly.
